Community Guidelines

Noirchive is an invite-only community for archive fashion. The guidelines below define what's expected of every member. They apply in addition to the Terms of Service. Breaking them can result in content removal, temporary suspension, or a permanent ban — at our sole discretion.

If you see something that violates these guidelines, use the "…" menu on a profile, fit, or verdict to report it.

1. Respect Other Members

We're here for taste, not noise.

• No harassment. No targeted insults, slurs, threats, intimidation, or sustained negative attention toward another member.
• No hate speech. Content attacking people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or similar protected characteristics is banned.
• No doxxing. Do not share another person's private information — real name, home address, phone number, employer, or any personal info shared in confidence.
• No impersonation. Don't pretend to be another member, a brand, a designer, or any third party.
• No coordinated brigades. Don't organize groups to mass-report, mass-mid, mass-pass, or otherwise target a member.

2. Don't Spam or Scam

• No spam. No bulk-posted promotional content, repetitive captions, fake engagement, or off-topic links.
• No scams. No phishing, no fake auctions, no "DM me to buy," no Cash App / Venmo links, no fraudulent listings.
• No platform manipulation. Don't buy/sell accounts, votes, follows, ELO, or grail pins. Don't run multi-account schemes.
• No counterfeit shilling. Don't represent fakes as authentic, don't promote replica sellers, don't market obvious reps in any thread, salon comment, or caption.

3. No Sexual Content, Especially Involving Minors

• No nudity or sexually explicit content. Period.
• Zero tolerance for content sexualizing minors. Any such content is removed immediately, the account is permanently banned, and we will report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and any other law enforcement agency required by law.
• No sexual content depicting non-consenting individuals.

4. No Violence or Harm

• No graphic violence, gore, or content celebrating real-world violence.
• No content that incites or threatens physical harm.
• No content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. If you are in distress, please reach out to a crisis service in your country.

5. No Illegal Content

• No promotion or sale of stolen goods, regulated weapons, illegal drugs, or any contraband.
• No human trafficking, smuggling, or any activity prohibited by law.
• No content infringing intellectual property rights. See our DMCA process.

6. Authenticity & Honesty

Noirchive is a community for archive collectors. Honesty about pieces and provenance is core to the culture.

• Don't misrepresent authenticity. If you suspect a piece is fake, you may flag it in good faith. Don't make accusations you cannot back up.
• Don't doctor evidence. No fabricated tags, fake receipts, or manipulated photos used to deceive.
• Don't astroturf reviews. Don't use multiple accounts or coordinated friends to inflate or deflate the perceived authenticity of a piece.

Authentication indicators (verified / likely / pending / suspect) reflect community judgment. They are not a Noirchive guarantee — see Section 5 of the Terms.

7. Photo & Identity

• Only post photos you took or have permission to use.
• Get permission before posting recognizable photos of other people.
• Strip identifying or sensitive information (license plates, ID cards, home addresses, faces of minors who aren't yours) before posting.
• Your profile photo should depict you, your style, your archive — not a celebrity, brand mark, or someone else.

8. Salon Verdicts — Sharp, Not Cruel

The Salon is for taste discourse. Strong opinions are welcome; personal attacks are not.

• ✅ "Cut feels wrong for early 2000s archive — this looks rep."
• ✅ "Mid for me. Too clean. Wear it harder."
• ❌ Anything targeting the wearer's body, race, gender, sexuality, or any protected characteristic.

A bad take is fair game. A bad person is off-limits.

9. Copyright / DMCA

If you believe content on Noirchive infringes your copyright, follow the DMCA process in our DMCA Policy. Bad-faith or repeated false DMCA notices can result in account suspension.

We use a combination of automated systems and human review. Consequences may include:

If you believe an enforcement action was a mistake, email help.noirchive@gmail.com within 30 days with:

• The account username.
• A brief description of the action you're appealing.
• Any context you'd like us to consider.

We aim to respond within 14 days. Appeal decisions are final.

12. Mandatory Reporting

We comply with all applicable laws on mandatory reporting of content depicting the sexual exploitation of children (reported to NCMEC), imminent threats of violence, and other categories of unlawful content as required by applicable law.

13. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines as the community evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect.
